Twice each year the U.S.  Network of the United Nations Global Compact hosts a symposium where the private sector, public sector and civil society can gather to share best practices and develop ideas around a topic which helps to advance the ten principles of the UN Global Compact.


On May 10, 2010,  the UN Global Compact's U.S. Network will hold its first such symposium of the year on the topic of "Business and Sustainable Cities.” The meeting will be held  in Chicago at the offices ofPricewaterhouseCoopers,  beginning at 10 am (with registration at 9:30 am) and finishing at 5:00 pm. 


Peter Senge of MIT will give the Keynote Address, and three expert panels will address:


  • Navigating the Policy Landscape
  • Breakthrough Innovations for Environmental Sustainability
  • Models of Public-Private Partnerships


The high-level line-up of panelists include representatives from some of the most innovative city-related initiatives in the country, including the San Francisco’s Business Council on Climate Change and Chicago’s CLOCCpartnership with Pepsi Co.
